I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with teens with anxiety for over 25 years. I found this book to fill an important niche in the area of treating teen anxiety. It is written in a way that I think teens will find refreshing and interesting. Anxiety is a bully in the lives of many teens who perhaps have not learned that it is ok to "talk back" to that bully in their brain and defy the BS it tells them on a daily and often an hourly basis. One thing I would add and it is why I gave four stars instead of five, are a few more techniques for containing the anxiety as well as calming techniques that are so important in addressing the very real involvement of the nervous system.

I purchased this little book for my teen and then read it myself, as well. My teen loved it, and it truly helped me understand her battle with anxiety much better. It even helped me to identify the touches of anxiety I deal with myself. I love the way the author has broken it down into small bits, making it easier to process and think about. I highly recommend it for teens and parents!

Fantastic book, even for preteens. Spoke directly to my child, as one of the highlighted issues in the book is sleep problems. Descriptions of thought patterns was spot-on, and had wonderful suggestions for coping tools. My child couldn't put the book down. Nice use of humor in tackling a very difficult subject.

This book is absolutely wonderful! I have two children that suffer greatly from anxiety and one is already starting the book. I read it first so I could help them with the same advice and understand the process. It's a very quick read but hits the points home so well that you finish it with a bit of shock of all the clarity that just popped out. I simply can not wait for my children to finish it. I will also save it for one of my younger children who has Aspergers for the appropriate time for him to read it. Thank you so much for this book!!

As a therapist who works solely with teens, I found this book to be a very helpful resource. I've had parents ask for recommendations on books that they can read and books for their teen and this book is top of the list. It is a quick read and easy to understand for those not saavy within the mental health realm.

13 year old enjoyed reading

I like that this was a fast intro that deepened my understanding of what my kid feels. I am not anxious at all, but my daughter is-- and I need to help her get through it; this is a good place for me to start that understanding.

Daughter thought this book was good and said she found it helpful.
